We are so thankful!

Your prayers are key in this ministry.  Over and over there are moments when we see God’s attention to detail.

The Reach & Restore van was picking up a donation last Friday and upon leaving, it wouldn’t start.  Parked in front of an apartment building where no one is suppose to stay, there was a bit of a panic.   The key wasn’t turning in the ignition.

Calls were made to our auto shop connections and there weren’t openings until the middle of this week.  One of the volunteers who just started helping R&R was at the scene and had AAA service.  He was able to get the van towed to a local shop at no charge!  That was a huge blessing and unexpected.  The towing company knew of the shop we connected with and knew exactly where to bring the van.  The van was fixed today (Monday) needing a new ignition switch. It is now back in service for ministry with a set of new keys!

Looking back, we praise God that there were two male delivery volunteers with the van at the time that this happened. Also, it occurred after the last delivery for the week just a few miles away!

Summer isn’t vacation time for Reach & Restore!  Serving our neighbors in need is a joy and can’t be done without you.  If you would be interested in forming or becoming part of a prayer group for Reach & Restore and the specific requests of the people served, please email us!

So we have survived the end of the world but many are now questioning what they would do if today was their last day…would it be focused on me, others or God?

For many folks that we meet through Reach & Restore, getting through today is a much bigger challenge.  One woman we met was without a bed and had health problems as well as a problem with her leg.  She told us she was in so much pain from sleeping on the floor that she was crawling around her place to get around. A hospital bed was donated to R&R and this was the perfect place for it!  The woman was praising God for this life changing gift.

Often we hear back from our “swimmers” and are reminded that spending time to listen and encourage is more impactful than we imagine.

A big thank you to the volunteers who helped us during the Community Day of Service yesterday!  It was a blessing to meet you, get three beds delivered, assist some seniors with jobs they could not physically do on their own, sort clothing, hang up spring clothing and clean!

Signs of spring are slowly showing and change is good.

Change is happening for Reach & Restore “swimmers” as well. We refer to our clients as “swimmers” because we are all in the sea of life, some are just struggling more than others.  Many we’ve helped recently are experiencing positive change and we are so thankful to be a part of the process!

A handful have had clothing appointments for job interview clothing and are reporting they have been hired or have a second interview!
A few have come out of treatment and are trying to start a new life.  The donations from Reach & Restore are supporting the success further and launching change sooner.

We praise God for the volunteers who dedicate their resources, time and energy to  Reach & Restore. THANK YOU!!!
