It is clear that winter is near as the phone rings for clothing appointments! Winter coats, boots and gloves are going out the door. Keeping sizes available for all on hand is important. If you have a warm coat you no longer need that has a working zipper, we can pass it along to someone who needs it.
This week at least three infants will have beds, formally homeless adults will have furniture to make their empty apartments comfortable and families have cookware to heat their food. Many have taken devotionals home with them. We are so thankful God has given us the opportunity to share with others in desperate times. For many, these moments are testimonies of how God has provided when their hope was gone.
There are many gracious volunteers who contribute their time to get ready for our next referral. Whether it is sorting, hanging or steaming clothing, packing up household items, delivering, or answering the phone, each task is an act of giving.
